COMBAT TESTED GAMING LEAGUES
The VFW, America’s largest organization of combat veterans has teamed up with KC Crew to offer our nation’s veterans a seamless and innovative way to connect – Combat Tested Gaming leagues!
Gaming and the connectivity it brings has proven to enhance veterans’ mental well-being through social engagement and skill development in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through these leagues, we’re calling on all service members and veterans to join in on the gaming action, build camaraderie and have fun doing it.
how it works
GENERAL LEAGUE DETAILS
- These leagues are FREE TO PLAY!
- The VFW has graciously covered all player registration fees
- These leagues are for all active-duty military and veterans
- If you are not active-duty or a veteran, you will be removed from the league
- Each league will be a total of 6 weeks
- 5 weeks of regular season plus a 6th week tournament for the top teams
- The tournament format will vary between games
- All leagues are completely online
- In order to play, you must have access to the game and an Xbox, Playstation or PC with internet connection
DAY-OF LEAGUE DETAILS
- On week 1, all players will meet in the League Voice Channel at 7pm Central for a first week speech to explain the league and answer questions
- On following weeks, teams will report to their assigned game room in the Discord channel between 6:45pm-7pm Central
- Once both teams are in the game room, you will begin playing
- A KC Crew rep will be in the channel to answer any questions and ensure matchups are played
- Once all matchups are complete, one person from the match will report the scores in the match results text channel in the game room.Â
- KC Crew will then record all scores in the league schedule

GAMEPLAY

Each match is a 90-minute kill race

Teams have 90 minutes to play as many games as possible. The top three scores will be counted towards their kill count each night.

The team with the highest number of kills in their three games wins the matchup.

FAqs
You will play from home so you must own a console (Playstation, Xbox or PC) and the game you will be playing. Live streaming is welcome!
Any active-duty military or veteran who is 18yo and above can play in the leagues.
All games are played online at the specific time in the schedule. You will join the Discord channel and then breakout to play against your opponent.Â
You must have access to an Xbox, Playstation or PC as well as an internet connection.Â
We are only using games that are free to download. If you do not have a console (PS4, PS5, Xbox X/S, Xbox One or PC), you would need to purchase one in order to play.Â
The first night, all players will report to the League Voice Channel at 7pm CDT. We have a welcome speech for all players to explain the league and answer questions.
After week 1, teams will report to their game room between 6:45pm-7pm CDT to meet with their opponent before beginning play.Â
All scores will be reported in your assigned game room for each week. There will be a match results text channel in your game room. You will report scores and screenshots after your match each week.Â
To expedite us recording scores, please type out the results as well (total wins for Rocket League and total kills for Warzone)
Currently, we are only running Rocket League and Warzone. As we look to expand the leagues, we will discuss which games to add.Â

To report rule violations, toxic behavior, or match disputes, please notify our league director at events@kccrew.com Keep in mind that this does not guarantee the score being changed as each report will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

We also have leagues for you! Our recommendation is to download each game and try it out. All league games are free to download and play. Once you do that, choose whichever game you like better and join one of the social/rec teams in that league.Â

The top two teams in each division will qualify for a tournament of champions that will be live-streamed at the 2024 VFW National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky!
