VFW Celebrates the 245th Birthday of the US Marine Corps

We salute their courage, selflessness and commitment to ensuring America and our freedoms remain protected

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) celebrates the generations of Marines who have served our great nation faithfully and defended freedom for 245 years.

For more than two centuries, our U.S. Marine Corps remains the best-trained men and women able to improvise, adapt and overcome any obstacle in whatever situation they are required.

Ranging from traditional warfare to humanitarian and disaster relief missions, our Marines step up and answer the call of duty wherever they are called.

The more than 1.5 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary salute every Marine — past and present — for your courage, selflessness and commitment to ensuring America and our freedoms remain protected.
